Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve & Education Center

What We Do

Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve and Education Center is a registered nonprofit that provides Residencies in the Arts and Natural Sciences. Our site is registered with the State of Colorado and the Federal Division of Wildlife. It is a Soft Release Site for rehabilitating birds and our preservation also extends to the forest. This preserve promotes creative expression in the arts and sciences, supports and encourages those who seek to conserve, protect, and renew natural ecosystems, and it also provides a protected environment where practitioners can pursue their creative vision though exploration, reflection, research, and collaboration.

We award 1-3 week residencies for emerging and established artists and scholars. It allows them to come to a place where the wildlife and landscapes provide some peace and quiet and endless inspiration. People from a variety of fields, whether artistic or scholarly, are welcome at Willowtail Springs. We offer scholarships and partial-scholarship support to those who may need it. There are also working spaces and living spaces, depending on the work you need to get done. You can either work in solitude or collaborate with other people who are also looking for inspiration.
